Hey! I know it's been forever since I've written. Let's see what's been up. For about all of November my counts (white blood cells/platelets) stayed abnormally low, so I was pretty restricted from regular activity, like I wasn't already! I have to say this whole thing is starting to drive me mad. I'm used to being super busy and way stressed out (working, going out, and always freaking about the band) and suddenly; no work, no partying, worrying every time somebody sneezes, no playing or touring, and a fairly enormous upcoming thing to worry about (transplant). Oh, and like 50 odd hours a week of being by myself (while everyone's working -Suzy Social heart attack here) roaming around my apartment. I hope I don't sound like I'm whining, but I figured I might as well give an accurate account of how its been lately. I think the beginning of all this was so fast and shocking that I just went with the pace, "Ok, I have this shitty thing, so go ahead with the chemo, GO!" And now the slower life taking over properties are kicking in. I do know that this is all temporary and soon enough we can all sigh a breath of relief, gulp down a juicy vodka tonic and hit the road. So I'll keep my mind on that.

I'm also trying to think of things I can do when I get out of the hospital. The plan is go in for the bone marrow transplant next Friday, Dec 22nd. First I get nuked for six days and then I get the transplant (donated from the lovely arm of my sister Sonya - perfect match) and I'll be in the hospital recovering for about four to five weeks. Then I go home to recover for another four to five weeks, in which I believe I can't really leave the house much. So, here in comes the ideas for sanity part of the program. My friend Tim Parker has brought over his four track recorder for me to fiddle around with, and I'm looking into taking Spanish lessons, possible graduate level correspondence courses? and FILL IN THE BLANK. Any ideas you can come up with on how one could amuse themselves for six weeks in a 700 foot space will be greatly appreciated!

On the fun tip, Jon and I went to Key West, Florida (thanks to Jack Weaver FF miles) a couple weeks ago to chill out before the transplant. It was fabulous! We rented bikes and biked around the island every day, laid out on the beach, and ate tons of gorgeous food. I also was able to go out to bars at night because it's all outside and open I didn't have to worry about smoke or people having colds, etc. It felt great to have a drink and shoot pool again. Key West itself was a little on the cheesy side of the wheel, kind of like South street on a Saturday night, but it's beautiful and warm and you can always find away to avoid the hoo-hah if you want to. I recommend going off season (May through December) for a little privacy.

Well, that's it for now. Thanks for reading this and again for all the support. I've got an amazing group of friends not to be taken for granted.

Rock on,
Sara
